Candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones.
February is the month of romance.

Valentine's Day began as a celebration of an early Christian saint named Valentinus.

Student: How did you celebrate Valentine's Day when you were younger?
Dad: My dad's parents gave him a little heart shaped box with chocolate.

Student: Did you get gifts from your parents?
Dad: Yes, my dad got gifts from his parents

Student: Did you have school parties?
Dad: Yes, my dad had school parties.

Student: Did your school sell chocolate bars?
Dad: no, my dad's school did not sell chocolate bars.

In Russian schools several weeks before 14th February children start putting Valentine cards in the special box. They say good words to their teachers and classmates.
