FOURTH OF JULY in the USA
(Fabiola, pictures from flickr.com)

Holidays do not get more American or patriotic than the Fourth of July. The Fourth of July is a holiday that celebrates America getting its independence from Great Britain . The American Revolutionary War occurred between the thirteen colonies of America , who were trying to gain there freedom, and Great Britain .

The   Declaration of Independence   is a statement adopted by the   Continental Congress   on July 4, 1776, which announced that the   thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as independent states, and no longer a part of the   British Empire . Instead they formed a union that would become a new nation—the   United States of America .   This day would later be known as our "Independence Day".

The United States of America celebrates the Fourth of July with fireworks, patriotic songs, and barbecues with good old fashion American food. Decorations are generally colored red, white, and blue, the colors of the American flag . Parades are often in the morning, while fireworks displays occur in the evening at such places as parks, fairgrounds, or town squares. Nowadays, New York City commonly displays one of the largest fireworks displays in the world to celebrate the Fourth of July and our country's independence.

Now on 4 th of July, they play washers and corn hole with their friends. Also everybody parties at our house, cooks on the grill and plays games.
