Victory Day in Russia

Victory Day is a very important and special holiday in our country. It is 9th May. The holiday to honour those who took part in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), alive and dead.
The celebration starts several days before the date, veterans are invited to schools to meet with kids and tell about the war. Children bring the congratulations cards to veterans' homes.

On the very date military parades are held in all big cities. Different activities happen near war monuments, people put flowers, listen to the concerts with war songs.
