Defender of Fatherland Day in Russia

The holiday is celebrated on 23d February. It started in Soviet times to honour those who served in the army.
Fathers and boys (future defenders) are congratulated at this day, they receive gifts. Girls and boys make special cards for their fathers.

Children have parties at school, funny contests for boys. Girls give gifts.
